On Saturday 7th July the Alive in Blyth carnival procession took place through the streets of Blyth. The carnival was a celebration of the Blyth Community hosted by Leading Link and Silx and Newsham and New Delaval Youth Forum were pleased to work together to take part!
The Carnival began at the Quayside and then down the main street of Blyth; and the marketplace was awash with colour, music and smiling faces, the atmosphere was incredible!
The young people from Silx and Newsham have spent the last few weeks making a banner and preparing and planning their theme- the young people wanted to represent the two youth clubs through colour and music and opted for a ‘clubland’ theme wearing bright neon colours, blowing whistles and dancing along to a playlist they created, both organisations looked fantastic on the day and really got into the Carnival Spirit!
The Market stalls and activities were also great and it was wonderful to see the community coming together to celebrate all that is positive in Blyth, massive well done to all involved.
