IN THE MIX
Would you like to become a DJ or MC?

Our In the Mix project began over ten years ago following a consultation with local young people in Blyth.

The In the Mix project operates on the last Thursday of every month between 5 and 8pm.

We plan trips and residentials throughout the year, it gives the young people new and exciting opportunities including an annual summer trip to Flamingoland

An opportunity for the young people to get creative and express themselves. We run art sessions every week and get involved with lots of external projects in the local area

We always promote health and well being and run projects and activities every week around important issues such as alcohol awareness, healthy eating, smoking awareness, bullying, mental health and much more.....

FUNDRAISING
The young people enjoy getting involved with fundraising. We hold a youth festival every year which raises money for local charities and throughout the year the young people get involved with charity events, markets, stalls and community projects.

These projects give the young people the chance to work on their planning and organisational skills, they get to learn the value of money and plan a project or activity to benefit themselves and their peers/community

VOLUNTEERING
Volunteering is a great way for the young people to help the community and learn new skills, this looks great on their CV and builds up confidence. Our young people have volunteered recently to help refurbish our decor, they have volunteered in the community and in our teen bar sessions.

INTERGENERATIONAL WORK
We have won awards for the work we have done to bridge the gap between the older and younger generation in Blyth. Our young people enjoy planning activities that they can enjoy with their new elderly acquaintances including a trip to a museum and a Christmas Party!
