Our detached youth team operates on the streets of Blyth throughout the week between 5pm and 8pm, aiming to build positive, trusting relationships with young people who may choose not to engage with centre-based youth services.
The areas we regularly cover include:
-
Blyth Town Centre
-
Blyth Sports Centre & Skate Park
-
Ridley Park
-
Newsham
-
South Beach Park
-
Briardale Centre Area
-
Isabella Centre Area
-
McDonald’s (Blyth)
Our team has developed strong relationships with young people in these areas, many of whom prefer informal support over traditional youth provision. We work closely with the police and the wider community to help keep young people safe and to reduce anti-social behaviour across the town.
In addition to providing street-based support, we also collaborate with young people to plan trips and activities that reflect their interests and needs. Our work has been recognised for its effective practice and positive interventions with young people in challenging situations.
