Part Time Detached Workers

To deliver detached street sessions in the Blyth area

3 to 9 hours a week

Rate per hour £10 -£11.30 per hour

(Depending on qualifications and experience)

1 year Fixed term contract

(Currently looking for funding in order to extend and develop the work)

People and Drugs (Silx Teen Bar Youth Service) is the largest youth delivery provider in the Blyth area is looking to appoint a team of Part Time Detached Workers in order to develop youth work on the streets of Blyth and to complement the very popular and successful centre based provision at our Teen Bar.

We are looking to appoint three detached workers, with a remit of making contact with young people, who use the street as a means of recreation and who do not utilise centre base provision.

The purpose of the post is to work very closely with the Senior Youth Worker and team of centre base workers and to assist in the development of the organisation’s vision and offer of provision for the young people of Blyth.

The street work team will work under guidance of the Senior Youth Worker and designated Trustee with responsibility for youth provision, with the expectation of targeting and identifying young people and their needs and to introduce and promote the creation of new opportunities and experiences.
